Georgia's Stars Open Up, Andrew Jones Produces US No. 2

Georgia's top distance standouts opened up on Saturday at the Marietta Distance Carnival.

But in a star-studded 3,200m field, only one could win and it was North Hall's Andrew Jones who finished with a US No. 2 time of 9:08.46 to take the win.

After missing the entire 2020 season due to cautions over COVID-19, the Univesity of Virginia recruit earned a seven-second PR.

Marietta's Kamari Miller was second with a US No. 4 time of 9:12.82, while Mary Person's Justin Wachtel -- who followed his cross country season with an incredible 14:15.35 in the 5K -- made a solid outdoor debut with a US No. 19 time of 9:29.62.
