Belen Jesuit State Champ Javier Vento Goes With the Gators

The University of Florida gets another verbal commitment from the class of 2021 with Belen's Javier Vento

The Belen Jesuit senior and current season no. 1 runner took to Instagram to announce his commitment this weekend.

Vento's news came after a new cross country PR and win at Apalachee Regional Park where he ran a 15:21 to win the FSU (Pre-State) Invitational title.

2020 has been Vento's year. Despite the shortened outdoor season, Vento took down Belen Jesuit's 1600m school record with an epic 4:11 win against stacked competition back in late February. He then came back the next weekend in early March to run a solo 9:15 3200m PR at the Sam Burley Hall of Fame Invitational.

Vento, Magoulas Talk FLRunners Race of Champions Team Win

As he looks to lead his team to another team state title and make history with the most team championships by any Florida team this November, the 2018 3A state champion will also look to capture his second individual state title.

The future Gator joins Michael Fiore, Jessica Edwards, and Keleigh Scallon as part of Florida's recruiting class of 2021.
