Watch Kiser & Kwasnica Battle It Out At CV

With the added importance of dual meets this season, we got a good mid-week matchup between two of the state's top sophomores, Camryn Kiser of Chambersburg and Marlee Kwasnica of State College.

At a tri-meet featuring Chambersburg, State College and Cumberland Valley on the campus of CV in Mechanicsburg, Kiser made a late pass to narrowly beat Kwasnica. Kwasnica led for much for much of the race, but Kiser made her move in the final loop around the track to take the win.

Kiser ran 19:10 for the win, while Kwasnica was close behind, taking second in 19:13.

The Chambersburg girls swept the tri-meet, earning wins over State College and Cumberland Valley. State College was without a few of its top girls. Kwasnica and the rest of the varsity team were only a few days removed from racing at the PIAA Foundation Invitational on a tough Hershey course on Saturday.

The Chambersburg girls showed off their impressive depth. After Kiser, Maddie Kinton was third, Olivia Rieck was fourth, and new transfer Bethany Stacey was fifth.

This will be a matchup to keep an eye on later down the line this season. Kiser and Kwasnica will be among the favorites in a deep Mid-Penn Conference field. That meet is set for Saturday, Oct. 24 at Big Spring High School.
