Another week of cross country action is in the books and we are starting to see athletes from more states get their first competitions under their belts. We've got some new names posting fast times this week.

Some new faces to the boys 5K are University High (WV) junior Larry Josh-Edwards and The Woodlands Christian senior Ben Shearer. Josh-Edwards posted a 15:00.31 in his first meet of the 2020 season, while Shearer put down a 15:06.33.

Two female athletes with strong season openers were Pine Crest's (NC) Carmen Alder and Issaquah High School's (WA) Julia David-smith. Alder clocked a 16:58.90 at the Carolina Liberty Freedom Invitational while David-Smith clocked a 17:01.91 at the Desert Daylight Invitational.
