NMAA Update: Shortened State field and now multi-day event

New Mexico Activities Association Executive Director Sally Marquez informs on the recent changes made to cross country this fall.

*Masks are still required during physical activity for cross country runners.

Adaptions to the New Mexico State Championships include a multi-day meet that will split races to four each day. Along with shortening the number of competitors at the event at one time, the runners per team have been limited to only 5. The teams that qualify from each district has also been limited to only two teams down from three like seasons prior. Regular season competition will see smaller meets, staggered start times and little to no congregating throughout the meet. As of now, the first allowed regular-season practice is set for October 5th with the State Championships set for December 4th and 5th.
