After a few breakthrough races in recent weeks, Izaiah Steury claimed National Performer of the Week honors on Friday.

And it was well deserved.

The Angola (IN) High School junior scored over 1,600 votes and just over 51-percent of the tallies after securing a major 5K PR of 15:22.80 at the Huntington North Invitational on Aug. 22.

That effort represented a 16-second improvement year-over-year for the Indiana athlete, who then went on to win the Baron Classic on Saturday.

A massive congrats goes out to Izaiah on the honor.

Now let's move on to Week 3 of the National Performer of the Week.
