Like she did at the Music City Distance Carnival last week, Jenna Hutchins ran away with the vote for Week 1 of the National Performer of the Week poll.

The Science Hill (TN) junior accumulated over 3,400 votes and over 47-percent of the tallies to battle past Indiana natives Sarah Mahensmith (37-percent) and Lily Cridge (9-percent).

And the performance certainly spoke for itself. Hutchins' time of 9:49.83 for 3,200 meters secured a junior class record and a new 16-year-old age mark. A big kudos goes out to Hutchins, who's now refocusing on cross country and a successful 2020 season.

Now let's move on to Week 2 of the National Performer of the Week.

With cross country dominating the conversation (though not every state has run just yet), we'll have five candidates in this week's poll. Voting will end Friday, and we'll recognize the winner every Monday during the unveiling of the newest poll.

Vote below in the poll and let us know your thoughts in the comments. For reference, check our Top 25 Performances of the Week. You can also vote in our National Boys Performer of the Week poll.
