A special miler took center stage last week in a legendary race.

And it was ultimately that performance, a record-breaking time of 4:01.34 at the Music City Distance Carnival that captured a new sophomore class and 16-year-old age group record for Rheinhardt Harrison, that ultimately grabbed the majority of the vote for National Performer of the Week, awarding the Nease (FL) High School rising junior with a Week 1 win.

Harrison netted over 56-percent of the tallies and roughly 2,800 votes to seal the victory over Kyle Clabough (1,577 votes) and Kole Mathison (501 votes).

A major congratulations goes out to Rheinhardt, who is on the heels of his junior season.

Now let's move on to Week 2 of the National Performer of the Week.

With cross country dominating the conversation (though not every state has run just yet), we'll have five candidates in this week's poll. Voting will end Friday, and we'll recognize the winner every Monday during the unveiling of the newest poll.

Vote below in the poll and let us know your thoughts in the comments. For reference, check our Top 25 Performances of the Week. You can also vote in our National Girls Performer of the Week poll.
