Patriot League Will Not Have A Fall Season

The Patriot League has announced the cancellation of the fall sports season. The Division I intercollegiate conference, which is based out of Bethlehem, PA, made the announcement on Monday in a press release, citing the coronavirus pandemic.

Teams within the league "will not engage in competition this fall season (championship and non-championship)," per the release. That includes cross country. Decisions about the future of winter and spring seasons will be made at a later date.

Bucknell University, Lafayette College, and Lehigh University are among the Pennsylvania colleges in the Patriot League. The United States Military Academy (Army) and the US Naval Academy (Navy), both members of the Patriot League, are not included in the league's mandate.

As for the Paul Short Run, there has not been an official announcement made yet. Lehigh University hosts the annual meet on its Goodman Campus and it is scheduled to take place this year on October 3. Paul Short is one of Pennsylvania's largest regular season cross country and includes college, high school and open races.
