Throwback Thursday: Luc Andrada Sweeps The Sprints At State

Luc Andrada flexed his talents at the 2019 Colorado State Track & Field Championships - there's no denying that.

The Pueblo East senior made no contest of the 4A sprints - he swept the 100 and 200 in dominating fashion.

Add that he dropped the fastest times - in the 100 and the 200 - across all-classifications.

He cruised through the prelims, running 10.78 in the 100 - the lone prelim time under 11 seconds, and a 21.50 in the 200, and he was just warming up.

Andrada opened the final day of competition with a state meet record of 10.51 in the 100, while Tyrese VanHorne took second in 10.81.

The race was nearly over 20 meters in, when Andrada was already clear of the field - something that we'd see again a few hours later...

Andrada doubled back to run away in the 200 in dominating fashion - a salute to the crowd sealed the deal, as he had state title No. 2 in 21.21.Tyler Williams took second this time in 21.61.

Like the 100, Andrada torched the early part of the race - making up the stagger within 20 strides. By the time he hit the straight he was already clear of his chasers.
