Prince George graduate and NC A&T incoming freshman, Javonte Harding has been named Virginia's Gatorade Athlete of The Year for the track season. Though he was unable to run at nationals, he did manage to end the season as one of the fastest guys in the entire nation.
Harding will be headed to A&T in the fall where he is expecting big things to come. That is particularly true in the 100m dash where he ranked in the top 10 all-time with his 10.39 personal best as a junior. He would have likely lowered that a considerable amount this outdoor season had we had a season.
He ends his high school career with four individual state titles and a national runner-up finish in the 100m dash. That is one of VA's best finishes since Noah Lyles won the event in 2016.
