Catching Up With Throwing Great Alyssa Wilson

We caught up with one of high school track and field's all-time greats this past week, Alyssa Wilson of UCLA who graduated from Donovan Catholic HS in 2017.

Wilson has been unsurprisingly breaking records at UCLA, has qualified for NCAAs in multiple events two straight years (shot, discus, and hammer), was named the Pac-12 Women's Field Athlete of the Year in 2019, and looks to compete in the Olympic Trials.

The star college junior would have been redshirting this outdoor season to concentrate on her training in the discus and hammer for the Trials.

Alyssa Wilson's Career Stats

Wilson still holds the high school National records in the shot put indoor (57-5.5) and outdoor (58-01) as well as the New Jersey state records in the shot put, discus (182-0), and hammer throw (191-02).

In the interview we cover topics such as what training has been like, the cancellation of the NCAA Championships, postponement of the Olympic schedule, advice for younger athletes and more.
