Bryce Foster, the junior class's top returning discus thrower in 2020, was devastatingly close to reaching a big goal in February, hitting just two feet shy of the 200-foot mark in the discus.

Just a few weeks later, Foster's season with Katy Taylor High School was put on hold. In Texas, he's waiting as the UIL determines whether the track and field season will continue in May -- the date the governing body has set to reexamine the landscape for sports.

If not, Foster -- a four-star offensive linemen in football -- was lucky. He had the opportunity to raise his official personal best by over 10 feet. Many returners in the 2020 season have not gotten that chance yet.
