After A Breakout Senior XC Season Ormsby Commits To Florida

Fort Myers standout, Stephy Ormsby, will continue her academic and athletic careers at the University of Florida following graduation in 2020.

Ormsby has been one of Florida's cross country breakout stars of 2019. She started her season in the 20 minute range and finished it up with a new outstanding PR of 17:46 at the FSU Pre-State Invitational. In just one year, she went from 20th in the state to competing for the state title this year and finishing third.

The future Gator has shown lots of talent this year with her strong progression -- something she believes Coach Chris Solinsky will continue to foster as she joins the Florida team.

After her senior cross country season we can expect to see Ormsby's 5:12 1600m and 2:24 800m PR's go down this outdoor season as she makes a fight for a state title in class 3A.

Ormsby is yet another stellar local pick up for the Gators as they add to their all-star distance lineup for next cross country season.
