Foot Locker All-American Evan Bishop Picks Wisconsin


Returning Foot Locker and Nike Cross Nationals All-American Evan Bishop announced his commitment to the University of Wisconsin on Monday, pledging to join a Badgers program which finished eighth at the NCAA Division I Cross Country Championships in 2018. 

The East Grand Rapids High School senior is the No. 15 ranked cross country athlete in the country thus far and finished the 2018 season at No. 23, marking him among the top distance recruits across 2020.

Bishop owns a 5K PR of 15:06.37 and finished ninth at Foot Locker Nationals and 20th at NXN last season. He's finished second and sixth at Michigan's Lower Peninsula Division I Championships over the past two seasons, respectively. 

On the track Bishop has produced bests of 4:17.20 in the 1,600m and 9:06.55 for 3,200m. He's gone 9:17.73 for a full two miles and also has recorded a best of 14:30.41 on the track in the 5K. 

Over the past two seasons the Badgers have picked up Rowen Ellenberg in the Class of 2019 and Shuaib Aljabaly and Derick Peters in the Class of 2018.
