Kayleigh Stargell Sets New 200m Hurdle National Record


GREENSBORO, NORTH CAROLINA -- Full Throttle Elite athlete Kayleigh Stargell set a new national record in the 13-year-old 200 meter hurdles.

The Georgia middle schooler competed in heat 13, where she was the top seed coming into the event.  Stargell held a 200m hurdle PR from the AAU National Club Champions, where she took home the gold medal. 

The previous national record in the event was held by Diasha Lawson, who in 2007 clocked a 27.24. 

Stargell will have a chance to break her new national record again tomorrow at 11:00 AM EST.  The 13-year-old will also compete in the 400m dash, 100m hurdles, and long jump this week.
