New York 7th Grader Jada Kenner Ties World Age Group Record

Jada Kenner claimed another big milestone on her quickly expanding resume on Saturday in Schenectady, New York, tying a 12-year-old World Age Group record in the 200 meter dash at the Eddy Games with a wind-legal 23.72 (+0.4) seconds on the clock.

The time is a new No. 1 in New York and ranks US No. 11 in the country

Kenner, a seventh-grader from Buffalo Tapestry Charter, tied Jamaica-born Brianna Lyston's previous wind-legal mark from 2017 in Kingston.

A week prior Kenner scored another PR, running 24.12 seconds for the distance, and over the 2019 season she's gone under 25 seconds in all four of her competitions. She also ran 11.86 seconds last week in the 100m.

Kenner's success shouldn't be too much of a surprise, though. In March, she won an indoor state title and set her first world age group record of her career in the 300m, running to a time of 39.24 seconds.
