Analysis: This one could be a close race between Ohio's Sean Glaze and New Jersey's Sam Allen. Glaze won this event last year with a 7:07.05 mile. Allen was DQ'd in 2018. This year Allen comes in with the US No. 1 performance with his time of 7:02.20 from the Monmouth U Showcase Meet #2. We should see a good battle between the two if Glaze--who hasn't walked the mile this year--is able to replicate what he did in 2018. Glaze also won the 3K race walk outdoors last spring.
A few other guys with strong times are New York's Jonah Cuestas and Nolan Neznek. Neznek's ranks US No. 1 in the 1500m walk with a time of 6:51.77, while Cuestas is just behind him in 7:14.80.
