Boys Pentathlon

Entries: 12

2018 Winner: Kyle Garland, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, 4,619 points

Armory Record: Gunnar Nixon, Edmond, Oklahoma, 4,307 points

National Record: Gunnar Nixon, Edmond, Oklahoma, 4,307 points

Threats To Win: Yariel Soto, Alex Kilpatrick, Travis Snyder

Analysis: While Soto has yet to compete in an indoor pentathlon over his career, he has shown an ability to traverse multiple events over a given day, evidenced by his US No. 5 decathlon in 2018 with 7,025 points.  Soto is the ideal favorite here, with season PRs of 8.58 in the 60mH,  22-8.5 in the LJ, 15-0.25 in the PV, 42-5 in the shot put and 2:10.95 in the 800m. The question will be just how many points the Ohio athlete and Tennessee recruit will score.
