MileSplitCA visited with some of the returning CIF-State Track and Field champions for the purpose of filming a regular practice to produce a series of videos we are calling 'Workout of a State Champion'. This is the third installment in that series.

Here is California girls 100-meter champion De'Anna Nowlinga senior at Calabasas High School.

We caught Nowling on Monday, Jan. 28 for a sprint-specific "Special Endurance Workout" conducted by Calabasas HS sprint coach Jeff Clanagan. We also hear briefly from coach Marlene Wilcox.

Nowling, who has signed with the University of Miami, also placed fourth at State in the 200 and is the No. 2 returner at that distance.

She also has the top returning times in both the 100 and 200 in the state and ranks nationally among returners, tied for seventh in the 100 and ranks 13th in the 200.

Nowling has won a CIF-Southern Section divisional title in the 100 all three years and in the 200 as a junior and a sophomore.
