BREAKING: FHSAA Announces New 2019 XC Classifications

 

The Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA) announced new cross country classifications for the 2019-2020 school year on Thursday.

Earlier this year, the FHSAA announced a few major changes that will take place in the 2019 cross-country season.

One of these changes was making the switch from sixteen districts per classifications to a new total of eight districts per classifications. With this new set up the first ten placing teams and top 30 runners in each meet will advance to the four regions, then the first six teams and top 15 runners advance to state from the region meet.

The new classifications, according to FHSAA, were determined solely based on the enrollment size of each school and many will find several changes to school's classifications. 

Here are the new classifications according to the FHSAA

Boys Cross Country Classifications: 1A | 2A 3A | 4A Independent

Region Classification Maps:
Class 1A: 1-2 | 3-4
Class 2A: 1-2 | 3-4
Class 3A: 1-2 | 3-4
Class 4A: 1-2 | 3-4

Girls Cross Country Classifications: 1A | 2A 3A | 4A Independent

Region Classification Maps:
Class 1A: 1-2 | 3-4
Class 2A: 1-2 | 3-4
Class 3A: 1-2 | 3-4
Class 4A: 1-2 | 3-4
