Tony's Take Top Video Moment of 2018: #3 Enyaeva Michelin

The state of Illinois has not seen a runner who possessed great speed and endurance and applied it to achieve greatness since Shelly McBride of the 1980s. McBride, who competed for Crete-Monee, had a range from 400 to cross country. Her greatness had made her the best overall runner of her time and something that coaches love to flaunt.

This past school season, Evanston's Enyaeva Michelin was of the same ilk. She ran herself to a state runner up finish in the 3A cross country championship, only losing to Katelynne Hart of Glenbard West. It did not stop on the track with some of the fastest times ever for an Illinois girl: 2:08.44 (800m), 4:44.66 (1600m), 10:16:58 (3200m), and a good 400m to win her conference meet in 58.64 (though she has split 56.xx on a relay or two). Michelin was a tremendous joy to watch compete every time she stepped into the competitive arena.
