HOUSTON, TEXAS -- In a matter of days, the University of Houston track and field program will get a big boost in its facilities with the installation of a 200m banked (hydraulic) indoor track. The facility will be ready for the start of the 2019 indoor season.
Yeoman Field House will be the home to a new six-lane oval track. In the center will sit an eight-lane straightaway for the sprints and hurdles, and the facility will also include two horizontal jump runways and pits, and pole a vault pit.Related: Official University of Houston Press Release
With the recent renovation to the outdoor facility, this $2-million dollar state-of-the-art addition provides a complete overhaul of Houston's track and field facilities.
