Unbelievable Progress: Prosper Improves Big Time In A Hurry

In just a year, the Prosper girls have made a big time improvement. Last season, they didn't qualify for the UIL 5A state cross country meet.

After UIL realignment, at the end of last year, they were moved up to 6A, the highest division in Texas. Not only did they qualify for the 6A state meet this year, they made it on the awards stand with a third place team finish.

Under the leadership of coach Jennifer Gegogeine, who is just in her second year at Prosper, the Lady Eagles set their sights even higher. For the first time in school history, they qualified for the biggest high school cross country team race in the nation.

Prosper placed second overall at the Nike Cross Regionals South race earning themselves the automatic bid for the Nike Cross Nationals (NXN) that takes place this weekend in Portland, Oregon.

On Tuesday, Prosper had one last hard workout for the season prior to the big race.

Workout:
- 8-10 minute w/u with dynamic stretching
- 3 (4 x 200) @ 30 - 34
- 400m recovery jog between sets
- 3 - 5 minute c/d and roll out
