Christian Brothers Academy Boys Tag Impressive Win At Bowdoin XC Classic

In terms of national storylines, the Bowdoin XC Classic was heavy on electric performances on the boys side. 

1. Let's start with Christian Brothers Academy. The perennial power from the Northeast, which entered Bowdoin ranked No. 18 on the MileSplit50, had its best showing of 2018 thus far, earning a pretty thorough victory in the Varsity II race by 42 points over No. 24 Corning (75) as it scored 33 points behind a 1-2-3- finish from its top trio, maintained a 55-second spread and earned a 16:36 average at Bowdoin Park. Senior Tim McInerney earned the win with a time of 16:16.10, while junior Shaw Powell (16:20.90) and senior Luke Reid (16:22.30) followed behind. All three runners were speed rated over 180. The squad from Lincroft, New Jersey finished its top five runners through 18 places with speed ratings all above 165. Middletown Xavier (CT), which was ranked No. 19 entering the meet, was third overall with 111 points. 


2. In the Varsity I race, Pt. Pleasant Boro's Devin Hart scored victory in a winning time of 16:14.90, earning a solid 184 speed rating. La Salle Academy (RI), meanwhile, battled with No. 20 Haddonfield along the course and shook up the national rankings with a victory, scoring 29 points. La Salle's top three finished 4-5-6 to position the team nicely up front and led a squad that produced a 30 second spread. Senior Joseph Dos Reis led the program in fourth in 16:27.40.
