Team: Carmel High School (IN)
Analysis: Carmel placed second last year at NXR Midwest, scoring 164 points. The squad was just behind Downers Grove North from Illinois, which took the region win with 104 points. Carmel was also the 2017 Indiana State Cross Country champions, scoring 94 points.
This year the team is returning only one of its top five and three of its top seven, but you better not sleep on Carmel; this program always seems to find a way to reload.
Carmel has had at least one individual represented at Nike Cross Nationals since as far back as 2011, so definitely be on the lookout for them to continue being one of the Midwest's strongest teams.
