Team: Bolles (FL)
Analysis: The boys from Bolles made it to Nike Cross Nationals (NXN) for the first time in school history in 2017. After they dominated the Class 2A FHSAA Cross Country State Finals, scoring 45 points, they went on to upset Green Hope (NC) at the Southeast Region meet, placing second and earning an automatic bid to NXN. This year, Bolles should be just as strong with four of their top five guys and five of their top seven returning, including the 1-2 punch of Charles Hicks and Chase Rivera. Hicks is ranked individually at seventh in the Milesplit50.
One of the big positives to this team is that more than half of the guys returning for the 2018 season have national level experience and are seniors. But if this group comes undone on the national level this season, it will be because of its 1-5 split, which stands at 1:42.50 and leaves too much room for displacement by the competition. Their team average 5K time through five runners is 15:52.76.
