Team: Edina High School, Minnesota
Analysis: Edina will return three of its top five and four of its top seven from its 2017 NXR Heartland team. But the team will again have to face off against some of the best in the Heartland. Last year, Edina placed fourth at the Roy Griak Invitational Gold race, third at the MSHSL State Cross Country Championships Boys AA race, and ended its season at NXR Heartland with a fourth-place showing.
With many of its athletes from those top meets returning, Edina will rely on experience in its bid to make it to Nationals. The in-state road will be tough, though, against the likes of Wayzata High School and Stillwater High School, which finished just ahead of them at the 2017 state meet.
