Zac Robinson Seeking Fast Times At AAU JO's

The AAU Junior Olympic Games will commence on July 28th on the campus of Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa.  Widely known as one of the premier youth gatherings on the summer calendar, the AAU JO's will run all the way to August 4th and, similar to recent years, it'll feature many of Ohio's top track and field athletes.

Among the strong Buckeye State contingent who are scheduled to compete is Pickerington Central grad, Zac Robinson.  Robinson's impressive credentials include a 400m Indoor State title in 2017 and pr's of 22.04 (200m) and 48.02 (400m).  He'll be competing in his two signature events over the next week.  The University of Akron signee has a wealth of big meet experience that he can draw upon during his upcoming contests, as he's toed the line at New Balance Nationals Indoor, the SPIRE Showcase, the VA Showcase and the AAU National Club Championship over the past few years.

MileSplit tracked down the Ohio Heat stand-out to gain insight on what his goals are for AAU JO's:

I purposely started off my summer training slowly, as I didn't want to overwork myself following the OHSAA State Championship and the Midwest Meet of Champions and I also wanted to make sure I could work my way up to peak condition for AAU's.  I benefit from working with the best coach out there, Tremayne Peppers, so hopefully I'll be ready to bust out a sub 22 and a sub 48 in Iowa.  If I don't reach those time goals, I'd still like to achieve a top 5 placement in the 400 and top 10 in the 200.
