National Records That Could Go Down In Girls Events In 2018

Girls 100m Dash

Rockdale County (GA) graduate Candace Hall set this record in 2015 at Brooks PR when she was a sophomore in high school, hitting 10.98 seconds with a 2.0 wind reading. Just a few years later she turned pro and is now running for Asics. She has yet to go under 11 seconds since.

Closest Overall: Kaylin Whitney, Clermont East Ridge (FL), 11.10 seconds, 2014

Closest in 2018: Briana Williams, Oakland Park Northeast (FL), 11.13 seconds

Prediction: Considering this is a World U20 Championship year and Williams is coming off a big three-win performance at the CARIFTA Games for Jamaica, the safe bet would be that she hits the right notes late in the championship season. There's a very reasonable chance Williams could make a run at this record in July for Jamaica in Finland. Keep in mind, Candace Hall set this record as a sophomore.
