The Scoop: Hunter, Troutner Impress At UVU Invitational

I know we have this whole countdown thing going on in slide 2, but Mansfield Lake Ridge (TX) High junior Jasmine Moore deserves her own post!

The class-record-holding athlete bombed another massive triple jump on Saturday, going a wind-legal 44 feet, 1 inches -- her first over 44 feet -- to win the girls high school division of The Texas Relays.

That mark was the No. 12 farthest attempt all-time, and Moore became just the seventh athlete to go over 44 feet during an outdoor season -- though she's ranked No. 6 among all athletes on that all-time list.

Moore has proven to be nearly unstoppable in the triple jump, an event in which she owns freshman and sophomore class records outdoors, and sophomore and junior class records indoors.

And yet, Moore still has major footage to claim.

The national record may be one mark Moore may still need a year to track -- though it wouldn't be surprising if she did this year.

Mostly, that's because the 44-11.75 mark belongs to the 2004 season of Brittany Daniels, who graduated from Tracy West (CA) High in '05 and produced that record in her junior season.

Can Moore make up more than 10 inches over the course of her spring season?

Well, the Texas Relays reminded us yet again not to doubt her anytime, anywhere.
