Britton Wilson vs. Kori Carter In Class 5A 300
Given Nansemond River (VA) High junior Kori Carter had a little more room, would she have nabbed Britton Wilson at the line?
That's up for debate (watch the race above).
Wilson, though, solidified her stronghold in the 300m national rankings by setting the tone early and keeping on the gas late, winning in a time of 38.42, which was just a couple tenths of a second off her US No. 1 of 38.38.
Carter followed in a US No. 6 time of 38.74.
Wilson followed with another title in the 500m in 1:12.52, while Carter won titles in the 55m (7.05) and 55mH (7.93), was fifth in the high jump and second in the long jump (18-8.25).
Carter's team also got the last laugh.
Nansemond River claimed the Group 5A team title with 88 points.
