The Scoop: An Emerging Sprinter, Potential Hurdle Greats And All-Time Performances

5. The Next Best Sprinter Of 2018

Arria Minor could be the nation's breakout female sprinter in 2018.

If her performance on Sunday at the Nite Moves Kickoff is of any indication, the Denver East (CO) junior is in store for a phenomenal year.

Minor went 7.30 seconds in the 60m and 23.45 in the 200m, both personal bests inside Cadet Field House in Colorado. She's just .11 seconds away from tying Ashley Owens' national record ('04) in the 60m and .48 seconds from Bianca Knight's national best ('07) in the 200m.

Not only did Minor set new U.S. No. 1 marks in the 60m and 200m, but she tied the No. 19 fastest 60m effort of all-time indoors and set the No. 13 fastest 200m of all time.

Minor's 60m PR of 2017 was 7.41 and her 200m best was 23.65, which she achieved at the Simplot Games.

Her progression year-over-year from this point last year (25.15) to now (23.45) presents phenomenal improvement and suggests Minor could do some special things this season.
