Weekend Rundown: Great Oak Boys Power Past Competition For Win At Mt. SAC


Lakota East (OH) High senior Dustin Horter was at it again on Saturday. 

The defending Division I state champion scored his fourth sub-15 minute 5K effort of the season, winning the OHSAA District Cross Country Voice of America Park Class 1A race in 14:58.49. 

It was another quality performance out of Horter, who owns a U.S. No. 2 time of 14:36.77 from earlier in the season. He bested the the field by 51 seconds and ran the overall fastest time of the day. 

His fitness indicates he's ready for the OHSAA State Championships, which are scheduled for Nov. 4 at the National Trail Raceway in Hebron.
