Day 2 At NBNO: All American Again For Oosting

Less than 24 hours after his impressive 5K victory,  Ryan Oosting earned All-American status again at the New Balance Nationals on Saturday.

The Arlington High sophomore finished second overall in the Championship Two Mile with a time of 9 minutes, 18.86 seconds. The race was won by Daniel Bernal of Eastwood (TX) with a time of 9:17.09.

Needham's Davonte Burnett, last week's New England 100-meter winner, just missed making it to the podium in his specialty, finishing seventh overall with a time of 10.51. Burnett placed third in his preliminary heat with a 10.70 clocking.

North Andover also just missed a spot on the podium by taking seventh in the boys' shuttle hurdle relay with a combined time of 1:00.48.

In the girls' events, Hopkinton was tenth in the 1,600m sprint medley with a time of 4:02.90. Milton finished 21st overall in the 4x800m at 9:22.35.

Foxborough's Shraeya Srinivasan was 15th overall; in the triple jump with a distance of 39 feet, 5 inches. Natick's Grace Connolly was 15th overall in the two mile. She crossed the line in 10:55.11.

Abby Comella of Wellesley clocked a near PR of 56.84 to finish fifth overall in the Freshmen 400m.
