Recruiting Rundown: Hayley Jackson Picks West Virginia

It was radio silence from Lusby Patuxent (Md.) High senior Hayley Jackson, a state record holder in the indoor 1600m and Foot Locker Cross Country Nationals top 10 finisher, for much of the NCAA Division I regular period until Monday.

Jackson announced her decision to attend West Virginia University on Twitter on Monday.

The Mountaineers nab one of the country's most promising distance recruits.

Jackson ran the second fastest 3200m at the Maryland Track and Field Championships in a time of 10:21.73 and also recorded a US No. 1 mark indoors in the 1600m in 4:45.55. Jackson finished fourth in the full mile at The Penn Relays (4:56.97) and finished eighth at Foot Locker Nationals in 17:49.78.

Jackson is an obvious centerpiece recruit for West Virginia and could provide an immediate impact.
