Cailie Logue Leads 3 Girls Sub-10:20 At Kansas Relays

In our preview of the top events at the Kansas Relays, we mentioned the girls 3200m as one to watch, and it certainly did not disappoint on Friday.

Leading a trio of sub-10:20 finishers, Girard (IA) High's senior and Iowa State signee Cailie Logue captured the race win with a time of 10:09.97.

Shawnee Mission Northwest (KS) High's Molly Born ran a 10:10.64, while rounding out the top three was Lawrence-Free State's (KS) Emily Venters, who ran 10:16.61.

Logue's, Born's, and Venters' times rank U.S. Nos. 5, 6, and 8, respectively. All three girls were under the old meet record of 10:25.42 set by Emily Sisson in 2008.

The guys 3200m also took place on Friday afternoon. Clayton Adams from Kearney (MO) won in a time of 9:13.21. Sam Pinkowski of La Crosse Central (WI) High was just behind him, finishing in 9:14.04, and Jenks (OK) High's Matt Young was just behind, finishing third in 9:16.29.
