Ridge Girls Earn National Title in 4x800 Meter

At the biggest meet of the season the Ridge girls ran a big time best of 9:01.64, winning the national title Saturday night at New Balance Nationals Indoors. This was no easy task as they took on the likes of North Penn (PA) 9:03.35 and Shenendehowa (NY) third 9:08.85.

Ridge took the race out hard and the rest of the talented teams just didn't have an answer for them. The squad and splits consisted of Meghan Convery (2:15.44), Catherine Giuseffi (2:16.50), Kaitlyn Van Baalen (2:17.19), and Brooke Fazio (2:12.51).

They now rank NJ#4 all-time and are the fourth New Jersey team to win the 4x800 national title in the past nine years, starting with Southern Regional's state record run of 8:54.11 back in 2009. Coming into this meet their season best was a 9:14.47 which won them the NJSIAA Meet of Champions title two weeks ago.
