13 National Indoor Records That Are Already In Serious Danger

Girls 200m

Current Record: 22.97(A), Bianca Knight (Ridgeland, MS), 2007

Bianca Knight's 22.97 200m, recorded at altitude in Idaho, will be one of the toughest marks in this article to crack. But check out the progression of two-time defending New Balance Nationals Indoor 200m champion Lauren Rain Williams: the USC-bound Californian has dropped her indoor best from 24.15 to 23.46 to 23.23 over the past three seasons, with a perfect peak at nationals. She holds the national indoor sophomore and junior class records, leaving her with Knight's mark to chase. Outdoors, she's run under 23 seconds wind-legal two times even though her 2016 season was cut short due to injury.

Also keep tabs on Virginia's Lauryn Ghee, who clocked a wind-legal 22.97 in the prelims at New Balance Nationals Outdoor in June. She took second in the final behind Jayla Kirkland.
