How Many New York Girls Teams Will Advance To NXN?

No. 1 ranked Fayetteville-Manlius looks safe to defend their NXN New York title, but how many more teams behind the Hornets will advance to the Portland championship? Last year, Saratoga Spring snagged second place for an auto advance, while North Rockland was awarded an at-large bid. This year, North Rockland must be considered the superior squad given their New York Federation Championships win, but Saratoga and Shenendehowa (runners-up at New York Federation Championships) could feasibly each earn an at-large bid to Portland.
In the individual battle, we will see the big New York three of No. 2 Kelsey Chmiel, No. 11 Katelyn Tuohy and No. 13 Jess Lawson face off again. Lawson was just third at the state meet but the Stanford commit was suffering from illness and we wouldn't be surprised to see her give the undefeated Chmiel more of a challenge this weekend.
