Tasty Race Of The Week: St. John's Boys Win Manhattan Overall Merge From Varsity E Race!

Saint John's High School won the Varsity Boys E race with 41 points over Niskayuna High School (122 points).

The Manhattan High School Invitational is a beast of a cross country meet, with 19 total boys races, 17 total girls races and eight varsity races each. The big dogs race in the Eastern States championship, but an unusual thing happened on Saturday. When the results of each varsity boys race were merged together, the overall team champion hailed from the Varsity E race: St. John's, the third-ranked team in the state of Massachusetts, scored a lower point total than Eastern States victors CBA of New Jersey, the No. 5 ranked team in the nation! Lowell High School, the top-ranked team in Massachusetts, took the No. 2 spot in the unofficial results merge after winning the Varsity A race.
