National Weekend Rundown For April 16

Austin Tamagno Wins Mt. SAC Mile in 4:03

Austin Tamagno clinched a berth in the Brooks PR Invitational and set a new national leader on Friday night, winning the Mt. SAC mile  in 4:03.21. A rabbit pulled Tamagno and Connor Dunne through 800 meters in roughly two minutes, and Tamagno was clearly much stronger than Dunne in the final 500 meters, pulling away for a six-second win. Dunne beat Tamagno in March to set the previous national leader, but Tamagno can now reclaim the title of best high school miler (non-Drew Hunter Division).
