Drew Hunter Will Run The DMR at The Penn Relays

Drew Hunter will run the distance medley relay at the Penn Relays later this month. He won the 3000 at Penn in 2014 and the mile in 2015. Hunter's family confirmed the news to MileSplit.

He'd be the first high school boy ever to win the mile, 3K, and DMR at Penn Relays. This would better the mile and 3k double victories at Penn that only Hunter and Matt Centrowitz have accomplished.

Hunter's most recent race was at New Balance Nationals Indoor, where he anchored his Loudoun Valley squad to a national title in the distance medley relay. He'll be back at it again with the batons at the Penn Relays, where he will run the DMR on Friday, April 29. One complication with that race? It's the same night as Loudoun Valley High's prom.

Hunter broke Alan Webb's indoor national record in the mile in February, running 3:58.21 at the Armory Track Invitational and lowering the mile record to 3:57.81 at the Millrose Games.

The Penn Relays will be live on FloTrack.
