Sydney McLaughlin breaks New Jersey State 400m Record
Sydney McLaughlin of Union Catholic Regional High School ran 53.34 over 400m to set a new New Jersey state record at the Meet of Champions; her time ranks No. 11 on the U.S. All-Time List and is just 0.09 seconds off the Top 10.
She improved her own U.S. No. 1 performance in the event. She also anchored the Union Catholic 4x400-meter relay to victory in U.S. No. 3, 3:47.27 with a 53-mid split.
The junior also helped some track fans get a date for prom.
