National Weekend Rundown: The Big State Meets Begin

Two Sophomore Class National Records Get The Weekend Started

In Virginia, Titiana Marsh got halfway to holding all four class records in the indoor triple jump. The Thomas Dale sophomore jumped 42-4 to break the sophomore class national record and win the state title; last year at this meet, she jumped 41-2 to win states and break the freshman class record.

In New York, Lanae-Tava Thomas ran a blazing fast 6.83 in the 55 meters, tying a sophomore class record that was set in 1979. The Rush Henrietta Sperry sophomore also jumped a US #3/New York state record of 20-3 in the long jump.

Marsh's triple jump and Thomas's 55 are both US #1; Marsh's mark makes her the #11 performer of all time.
