Paralympian Hunter Woodhall's Legs Recovered

Hunter Woodhall is back on track to compete for gold at the Para Pan Am Championships in Toronto, Canada in August.

The double amputee's running blades were taken from a New York City subway train on Saturday, July 18.

After posting on social media, the rising junior at Syracuse High School, Utah, recovered the prosthetic legs on Tuesday afternoon. Local police found the legs in the same lost and found that were searched and found empty on Monday.

“Not sure what happened … Whoever had them probably had them for three days and now we’ve got them back,” Woodhall said to the Standard Examiner.

Woodhall was relieved.

“It’s a huge weight lifted off my shoulder and it’s a lesson learned, definitely,” Woodhall said. “You’ve just got to be educated about your surroundings.”

With a 400 meter personal best of 49.15, Woodhall is a favorite to contend for gold at the Para Pan Ams in August.
