New Balance Indoor Grand Prix Junior Girls' Mile Preview

Girls Analysis

Ryen Frazier (Ravenscroft, NC)

Mile PR: 4:41.56 (indoors)
Mile SB: 4:41.56

Ryen Frazier didn't even wait until the end of cross country season to race her first mile - she clocked a 4:44.2 in between Foot Locker Regionals and Nationals in November. The Ravenscroft senior and NC State commit has been on fire ever since. This past weekend, she launched a North Carolina State Indoor Record of 4:41.56 at the Camel City Elite Mile to finish sixth overall in a field of collegiate and professional runners. Nike athlete Shannon Rowbury paced the field with her US #5 All-Time 4:22.66 as Frazier navigated the pack to finish ahead of all the collegians with a US #8 High School All-Time mark. She's got to be considered the favorite as the only runner to break 4:50 this season.
