Carmel (IN)
The Carmel girls, defending Indiana state champions and 4th place finishers at the 2013 Nike Cross Nationals, return a solid core of 4 NXN vets with Kelsey Harris, Haley Harris, Stacy Morozov, and Anna Schmitz. Meanwhile, coach Mark Ellington has been producing new names and producers to his varsity lineup for years and already has at least 3 more girls who have already or ready to run under 19 minutes starting this fall in Claire Corvavi, Megan Kress, and Diana Gorin. The Harris sisters Kelsey and Haley are both sub 5 milers as the expected team leaders for this fall, while the junior Morozov as the team's #3 returnee has dipped under 11 minutes in the 3200. The Carmel girls have traditionally been one of the best programs in the NXN Midwest Regional and will really need to step it up a notch to maintain that supremacy this fall with emerging programs like Naperville North and Glenbard West in Illinois as well as the new opening for top Michigan schools to compete such as the Audrey Belf-led Birmingham Seaholm squad.
