After heartbreaking DQ in heptathlon, Shaina Burns not quitting..she is FINISHING!

After a heartbreaking and devasting disqualification in the 200 meter dash (lane violation) as her final event of day one of the women's heptathlon at the World Junior Championships on Tuesday, Lakeville South High School's Shaina Burns (MN) could have easily packed it in for the rest of the competition and decided to not compete in the second day of the event on Wednesday since she virtually no chance for a high finish in the multi-event after earning no points in the 200.

However, after many tears and an emotional rollercoaster ride that the last 24 hours have been, the future Texas A&M Aggie and 2014 New Balance Nationals indoor and outdoor heptathlon champ has not only decided to remain in the competition, but she is fired up to get back on the track to finish strong. See her tweet this morning below.

Good luck to Shaina Burns as she bounces back today with pride representing the Red, White, & Blue!
