The 2014 Kansas Relays are part of this year's adidas Golden Stripes Tour of qualifier meets that build into the adidas Grand Prix in mid June to complete the series.
Stephanie Jenks of Linn-Mar High School in Iowa and Spencer Haik of Glendale High School in Missouri won the Kansas Relays 1600 meter races in times of 4:52 and 4:15 respectively despite racing in windy conditions. The wind benefited the 100 meter dash champs at KU in Alleandra Watt of Pine Creek High School in Colorado and Michael Wells of Cleveland NJROTC High School in Missouri with swift wind-aided clockings of 10.49 for Wells and 11.47 for Watt in the 100 meter dash finals.
All four high school track talents have now earned themselves automatic spots at the starting line in the adidas Grand Prix on Saturday, June 14th at Icahn Stadium in New York City in the Dream Mile and 100 meter races.
